Who may apply for a scholarship?
High school and college students may apply for a scholarship. In addition, high school graduates who are not enrolled in a college or university and who are between the ages of 19-24 may also apply.
Applicants must be an active contributor to his or her congregation, and a letter of recommendation from a pastor or church youth group supervisor is required.
How are applicants selected?
Applicants are selected based on the application as a whole, including two recommendations and an essay. The Kim Family Charitable Foundation wishes to grant the scholarships to youth who are passionate about their faith and have shown dedication, responsibility and effort in all of their endeavors.
How long does the process take?
Once an application is received, an email is sent to the applicant within 10 business days indicating consideration. An interview will then be scheduled. If the applicant is selected, a check is sent to the church or organization planning the trip, in the applicant’s name.
